What’s the best option for fillers for nasolabial folds?
I am 35 years old and I think I need some filler for my nasolabial folds. There are a lot of options on the market so I am not decided what to choose.
Fillers come in many different types, but the most commonly used are made of a substance found naturally in the body, which comes in different sub-types, some of which are thicker and therefore good for recreating lost volume, while some are softer and better for filling lips. When it comes to nasolabial folds, my first choice is to actually fill the cheeks! This may sound strange but as we age we tend to lose volume in the mid-face (in the cheeks and under the eyes). Replacing this lost volume serves two purposes: firstly, it restores a more youthful, “rested” look under the eyes; and secondly it indirectly gives a “lift” to the nasolabial folds. If need be, more filler can later be added directly along the nasolabial folds. Of course, it’s hard to judge from just one picture, so I recommend an in-person assessment with an experienced injector who can see the “full three-dimensional” picture of your face and discuss your treatment goals with you.
